Reiki

What is Reiki?

Most people have heard of Reiki now-a-days although not everyone has had treatment. Reiki helps to aid relaxation, assist in the body’s natural healing processes and develop emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. It will also induce deep relaxation, help people cope with difficulties, relieve emotional stress and improve overall well being.

The Reiki Practitioner will ask you lie down on the treatment bed and to make yourself comfortable.

You will remain fully clothed at all times apart from being asked to remove your shoes. Comfortable clothing is recommended.

It’s better if you close your eyes but you don’t have to if you would prefer to leave them open. Many people however, fall to sleep after 20 minutes.

The Reiki Practitioner will place their hands in various positions lightly on your body. Sensitive parts of the body are not touched but hands are held over these areas or close to them, your well being is always the most important factor during treatment.

They will work their way down from your crown eventually to your feet. You will be asked to turn over onto your front and the process will continue again until the treatment has finished.

Calm music might be played in the background to help you relax.

You might feel warmth, cold, vibrations and tingling sensations during the treatment but don’t be surprised if you feel nothing. Everyone reacts in different ways and there is no right or wrong way.

Please feel free to ask any questions before or after the treatment.
